Deadline to Request “Pass/No Pass” Grade Fast Approaching

Per Assembly Bill 104, students enrolled in high school in the 2020 – 2021 academic year who received a grade of D or F may apply to have a letter grade replaced by a Pass or No Pass grade. For those interested in applying, the deadlines are fast approaching this Friday and Sunday.

If you are interested in applying, you will need to fill out the form found here:

Grade Change Application – Postsecondary (CA Dept of Education)

FOR BURBANK HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Completed applications must be submitted to your student’s counselor by Friday, August 13.

FOR JOHN BURROUGHS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Completed applications need to be submitted to
DebraWade@burbankusd.org or your student’s counselor
by Sunday, August 15.

PLEASE NOTE: You will need to know the Student ID number and the course number you are hoping to change the grade of, so you might need to contact your counselor to help obtain that information.

The following links provide information about how each of the college systems will deal with Pass or No Pass. Please be aware that some postsecondary institutions in other states may not accept a Pass or No Pass grade instead of a letter grade for admission purposes.

Lastly, please note that Pass or No Pass marks will not be calculated in the student grade point average.

Please contact your student’s guidance counselor if you have questions. You can find your counselor information here:
