My name is Charlene Walters, and I am honored to serve as the Burbank Council Parent Teacher Association President as we enter our 100th year of supporting and enriching Burbank Schools. We plan to celebrate this milestone by honoring the work of our dedicated volunteers and by highlighting the inspiring PTA programs happening at our schools. We are excited for the new school year, and many of our PTAs have already hit the ground running.

PTA’s mission is to positively impact the lives of all children and families. Over the last few years, we have successfully navigated a lock down and have worked hard to reestablish ourselves in our school communities. The 2023-2024 school year is about increasing our advocacy efforts and building even more robust programs so that our children and families thrive. I have asked all 16 PTA Executive Boards to “Dream Big. Plan Accordingly!” With the help of this incredible Burbank community, I know our 16 PTA’s will accomplish great things.

You do not need to volunteer to support the PTA, but we can achieve so much more when we work together. Studies show that a child’s academic success and self-esteem increase when parents and caregivers become involved in the child’s school. There are many opportunities to contribute, so please check with your school’s PTA to see how you can make an impact.

The easiest way to make a difference is by joining PTA and becoming a member of the largest child advocacy organization in the nation. Please join your school’s PTA today, and partner with us as we devote time and resources to advocating on issues that help make every child’s potential a reality.
