The League of Women Voters of Glendale/Burbank (LWV-G/B) and Burbank Council PTA (BCPTA) will host a candidate forum on September 30th to help our community learn more about the candidates running for Burbank Unified School District’s Board of Education.
The Board of Education makes decisions that affect all of our students, and they are our elected representatives. Our community has a voice when it comes to educating our children. Our voice is our vote. Both LWV-G/B and BCPTA believe that informing citizens in a nonpartisan way about their candidates both empowers voters and encourages voters to show up at the polls!
We are excited to announce that this forum will include questions based on YOUR input! This forum is your chance to find out what the candidates stand for and how they will address the challenges facing our district.
Here are some sample questions to consider when thinking about what you want to ask:
- As a school board member, what action, if any, would you take to fund our schools better?
- During this time of social unrest due to racial inequality, what actions, if any, will you take to guarantee diversity, inclusion, and equity in our district?
- What suggestions do you have for finding and keeping quality teachers and other professionals in our school district?
Please fill out the form below so we can collect questions that are important to Burbank parents and voters. You may ask multiple questions by filling out the form as many times as you would like. Please ask one question at a time per form submission.
The deadline to submit questions for the candidates is Friday, September 25, 2020, at 5:00 pm.
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at 2:45 pm!
